Published Monday 22nd February 10
The shortlist for Pendle's prestigious Business Awards 2010 has been announced!
"And we received a fantastic number of excellent entries," said Councillor Allan Buck who has responsibility for Economic Development and sits on Pendle Vision Board.
"It shows that despite the pressures of the recession, many Pendle companies are still managing to thrive.
"They all deserve recognition and that's just what the Business Awards are all about. "We're supporting local companies which invest in their staff, products and processes.
"In Pendle we have lots of dynamic companies at the cutting edge and world leaders in their field."
Pendle Business Awards 2010 is being jointly organised by Pendle Vision, the economic arm of Pendle Partnership, and Pendle Council.
Dennis Mendoros, OBE, DL, FRAeS Chairman of Pendle Vision and Managing Director of Euravia Engineering and Supply Co Ltd, said:
"Thank you to all the companies which have sponsored the event. "Your support will make sure that the Awards evening will be a memorable evening for everyone.
"This year it's being held at the new Arts, Culture and Enterprise Centre in Nelson.
"And a lot of work is going on behind the scenes to make sure that it's a fantastic night."
Councillor Buck added: "The first awards event was such a great success we just knew we had to do it again.
"The knock-on effect to our local businesses was substantial, creating a buzz over a very long time. We're sure that this year's event will have the same effect!
"The shortlisted companies all have fantastic success stories showing how they've gone from strength to strength."
