Pendle Borough Council has suspended the Alcohol Premises Licence at Crown Convenience Store in Albert Road for two months, for selling alcohol to a 15-year-old female during The Great British Rhythm and Blues Festival last August.

During the investigation, which was carried out by Pendle Borough Council’s Licensing Team, with support from Lancashire Police, other breaches of the licence were also found, including possessing alcohol for unauthorised sale, unauthorised licensable activities and trading beyond licensable hours.

Councillor David Whipp, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “This is an example of what we do when breaches of licenses are made and shows how hard our officers are working to keep Pendle and its residents safe.

“Action has been taken and the owner of the premises has also been given measures he must put in place prior to the suspension being lifted.”
