Freedom of Information Compliance Statistics
Dataset Name/Title:
Freedom of Information Compliance Statistics
We handle a significant volume of requests for information each year, covering a wide range of topics about how the council operates and delivers services. Publishing our Freedom of Information Request (FOIR) data is one of the ways we can be open with residents and demonstrate how we use and share the information we hold.
We are continually looking for ways to improve our transparency, accountability and the way we engage with the public. Making FOIR data available helps us to work more openly and consistently, while also encouraging a better understanding of the council’s role and responsibilities. It supports fair access to information and shows how we respond to enquiries in a timely and proportionate way.
By publishing this data, we also help reduce unnecessary duplication of requests by making commonly sought information easily accessible. This allows residents to find information quickly and enables council officers to focus on delivering high quality services. Sharing FOIR data is therefore an important part of improving efficiency while strengthening trust between the council and the community we serve.
