What’s happening?
The Council has approved the Pendle Local Plan Fourth Edition for a six-week public consultation and submission for independent examination.
The consultation took place Friday 25 October to Friday 6 December 2024 and has now closed.

Policies Map
The Policies Map shows those areas of Pendle where different planning policies apply. A new policies map has been prepared to show how the policies of the Pendle Local Plan Fourth Edition will be implemented on adoption.
How can I comment?
The consultation has now closed.
What happens next?
The Council will submit the Pendle Local Plan Fourth Edition, supporting documents and evidence, and all comments received in response to the consultation to the Secretary of State for independent examination.
The Secretary of State will appoint an Inspector to carry out an independent examination of the Plan. The Inspector will consider its legal compliance and soundness. The examination is usually conducted through the submission of written statements supplemented, where necessary, by public hearings. Anyone who has commented on the Local Plan Publication draft (Regulation 19) will be invited to take part in the Examination.
