Help for Households

The Crisis and Resilience Fund

The Crisis and Resilience Fund is here to help people on low incomes who are struggling financially.

It provides support if you are facing a sudden or urgent situation and need short-term help. It is for those in sudden, urgent need and is not a source of regular income.

The Fund can also connect you to the right local advice and support to help build financial resilience and prevent further crisis.

How can we help?

We’ve funded several community organisations who can help you with:

Maximising your income

  • Checking you’re receiving all the benefits you’re entitled to
  • Offering employment and training advice
  • Supporting you with budgeting and money management

Providing practical help

Whether it’s affordable food or help with heating your home, we’ll help you find what you need.

Crisis Payment

If you’re facing financial difficulties because of a sudden crisis, you may be able to get support through the Crisis Payment scheme.

Heating Oil grant

If you’re facing immediate financial hardship because of significant increases in energy costs, such as a large increase in heating oil prices, you may be eligible for financial support to help you cover your energy bill.

Affordable Warmth

If you need help with keeping your home warm this winter, you may be eligible for an Affordable Warmth Grant. If you own and occupy your property and you are vulnerable, or on a low income, you can apply for a grant here.

Housing Payments

If you receive Housing Benefit but are still struggling to pay your rent, you might be able to get help from us through Housing Payment.

Help for low-income families of school children

If your child receives Free School Meals, they can take part in Pendle’s Holiday Activities and Food (HAF) programme.

This programme runs during the main school holidays (spring, summer and winter) and helps keep children well-fed and engaged with fun activities.

Your child’s school will let you know if you’re eligible and will provide a code so you can access the programme.

We’ve created a directory of local food support to help families who may be struggling during the school holidays. You can access it here.
