View and comment on a planning application
You have two choices
1. Text and Map Based Searching
For applications from 1991 - the present day, and ongoing, you can use our Planning system. Please note, the system currently does not work in Firefox - we are working to fix this. You can view planning applications, any associated documents, and where applicable, you can comment on those applications.
You can download a document showing you how to get the best out of the Planning System.
If you're looking for Building Control Applications, they are on our View building control applications page.
2. Historic Maps
For planning applications from 1947-2000, we have scanned images of old maps which you can download. These maps show application sites outlined in red, with the relevant reference numbers:

Planning weekly/monthly list
You can see a round up of all the planning applications submitted on a weekly or monthly basis and filter them by parish, ward, date, validated and decided.
You can receive a pdf version of the weekly planning list by email - to be included on the distribution list contact firstname.lastname@example.org
- This search function should not be substituted for a formal Land Charges search
- Although we make every effort to keep the archive up to date it does not constitute the Part 1 Planning Register
Scaling of Plans: If printing plans from these pages please note that they will not necessarily be to the exact scale specified on the plans. However, we are encouraging our applicants and agents to supply plans in PDF format. Providing such plans have been created in a recent version of Acrobat with the measuring function enabled then anyone with Adobe Reader Version 9.4 onwards will be able to scale plans using the measuring tool.
Monitoring: The Council monitors the effectiveness of its development management service by sending out questionnaires to some of those that have made representations on planning applications. This is to help improve service delivery. The Council also holds a forum for planning agents on a twice yearly basis.
