Colne town centre

Colne has become Pendle's first Business Improvement District

The bonnie town on t'hill is a traditional market town and offers independent speciality shops as well as its popular market. It has a thriving night time buzz with three theatres and an excellent variety of restaurants and pubs.

Colne also has an In Bloom group, who run a number of successful campaigns in the town including trying to make Colne plastic bag free by summer 2009.

Colne in Bloom was established in 2004. Since then the group has gone from strength to strength, having won the Best Large Town category in the prestigious North West in Bloom competition 2008, 2009, 2010, 2011 and 2012 https://www.facebook.com/colneinbloom.

The town also hosts the annual Rhythm and Blues Festival which attracts an audience from around the globe. Other exciting events that take place in the town include the Colne grand prix, a British cycling event which sees around 4,000 flock into the town centre to experience the thrills and spills of live racing.

The town has recently seen the redevelopment of one of the town precinct and Library areas, creating a quality environment for all to enjoy.
