Private hire vehicle licence
Important: Private hire vehicles cannot pick up passengers in the street. All journeys must be pre-booked.
Apply for or renew a licence
To apply for a new licence or renew an existing one, complete the Vehicle application form.
Before you start, you’ll need to have the following documents ready to upload:
- Insurance certificate
- Vehicle registration document or bill of sale
- MOT certificate (issued within 14 days of submitting your application)
We’ll process your application and email your licence, along with details on how to collect your plates or renewal discs.
