Private Hire Vehicle Licence

Private hire vehicles cannot pick passengers up in the street. All journeys must be pre-booked.

Apply for or renew a licence

To apply for a new licence or to renew an existing licence, please complete the online application form. Before you start, please have your insurance certificate, vehicle registration document/bill of sale, compliance, and test sheet ready to upload. We will process your application and send you an email with the licence attached and details of how to collect the licence plates.

Hackney Carriage Licence

Hackney carriages are more commonly called taxis.They can be hailed at a hackney carriage rank or in the street. 

The driver is not allowed to charge more than the fare shown on the meter. 

All hackney carriages in Pendle are red and have a meter fitted. We have a limit of 71 vehicles.
