Hackney carriage vehicle licence
Hackney carriages are more commonly called taxis. They can be hailed at a hackney carriage rank or in the street.
All hackney carriages in Pendle are red and have a meter fitted. The driver is not allowed to charge more than the fare shown on the meter.
You need to book an appointment with us to apply for a new licence or to renew an existing licence. To book an appointment, email Taxi Licensing or ring 01282 661638 between 10am and 2.30pm.

We have a limit of 71 hackney carriage licences. All our licences are currently issued, so no more licences can be issued at this time.
