Holiday activities and food programme
Information for potential HAF providers
The HAF Programme supports families experiencing cost of living challenges. HAF provides enrichment activities and nutritious meals to children and young people who get free school meals.
In line with national HAF requirements activities will be delivered:
- one week during Easter holidays
- four weeks over the summer holiday
- one week at Christmas.
The funding will cover at least of four hours of activity each day, four days a week. You must provide healthy, nutritious food to all participants. Offering HAF funded and non-HAF funded children the same meal options.
Children eligible for a HAF place will be given a voucher code from their school and will book their place via Lancashire County Council's HAF website. The HAF funding will only cover places booked with voucher codes issued from school and not for any additional places which must be funded by yourselves.
Children who attend Lancashire HAF activities are to:
- Eat healthily over the school holidays
- Be active during the school holidays
- Take part in engaging and enriching activities. The activities will support the development of resilience, character, and wellbeing.
- Be safe and socially included
- Have a great knowledge of health and nutrition
- Be engaged with schools and other services.
