Local development scheme
The Local Development Scheme (LDS) sets out the project plan for the preparation of the Local Plan (Parts 1 and 2) and associated Supplementary Planning Documents (SPDs).
It provides a timetable highlighting how long it will take to prepare each document, when the public will be able to participate (both formally and informally) and when the final version of each document will be published, examined and adopted.
What's happening next?
A full review of the LDS has been prepared and came into effect following the meeting of the council's Executive committee on Thursday 26th June 2014. An amendment to the LDS was approved at the meeting of the Full Council on Thursday 25th September 2014. The new LDS can be viewed in the Documents to download section below.
What have we done so far?
The first LDS was brought into effect in 2005. Since that time the LDS has been reviewed as part of the annual monitoring process. On four occasions this has resulted in the preparation of a new LDS with a revised timetable for the preparation of Local Plan documents.
