Local development scheme

The Local Development Scheme (LDS) is the project plan for the Pendle Local Plan and associated planning policy documents.

It includes:

  • a timetable showing how long each document will take to prepare
  • information about when you will be able to engage in its preparation or comment on its content, as part of a formal consultation
  • and information about when the final version of the document will be published, examined and adopted

The eighth revision of the Local Development Scheme was approved at Executive on 12 March 2024.

What's happening next?

We will continue to monitor progress against the latest Local Development Scheme timetable. We may decide to prepare a new Local Development Scheme if:

  • there is any significant delay to the plan preparation process, or
  • the Council decides to take a different approach to plan making

What have we done so far?

The first Local Development Scheme was brought in in 2005. Since then, it has been reviewed each year in the Authority Monitoring Report (AMR)
