There are 49 councillors in Pendle and the present composition of the Council is:

18 Conservative; 16 Labour; 12 Liberal Democrats; 2 British National Party and 1 Independent.

This means that Pendle is a council where no one party has overall control, though the Conservatives have the largest number of councillors. The 2011/2012 Council Executive is made up of six councillors and our Council leader, all of whom are members of the Conservative party.
