Pendle’s joint venture company PEARL – Pendle Enterprise and Regeneration Ltd - has clocked up a staggering £182m of projects since it was established in 2007.
The strong performance of the partnership between Pendle Borough Council and Barnfield Investment Properties was celebrated at PEARL’s flagship project, Northlight, today (Wednesday 25 March).
The Invest in Pendle event was also an opportunity to hear from Pendle Vision board members, business leaders and developers about the opportunities in the borough.
Northlight is a £42m conversion and development of the dilapidated Brierfield Mill creating a stunning living and working complex.
Councillor David Whipp, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “It’s clear that PEARL continues to be a huge success story for Pendle and we are immensely proud of Northlight.
“Together we have totally transformed the iconic Brierfield Mill complex, protecting the Grade II building’s heritage creating new homes, education, employment, sport and cultural facilities.
“This event has helped us to put a spotlight on what PEARL has achieved as well as the exciting future and opportunities in Pendle to encourage businesses to start, grow and invest in the area.
Tim Webber MBE, Chairman and Managing Director of Barnfield Group and PEARL Board member, said: “As a business rooted in Pendle, Barnfield is proud to have played a leading role in delivering transformative regeneration through PEARL.

“Northlight is a flagship example of what can be achieved through true partnership. It has set a benchmark for high-quality regeneration and is already acting as a catalyst for further investment in the area.
