Another chance to have your say on masterplans

There’s another chance for you to have your say on masterplans for Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby.

Cllr Asjad Mahmood

Last year residents were given the opportunity to attend workshops to consider the draft masterplans and express their opinions and ideas.

Views were taken onboard by PLACED - an independent engagement team employed by the Council - and the drafts have been updated.

Residents can now view the updated masterplans for each of the towns and complete an online survey with any further suggestions.

But you only have until Monday, 11 March to do so.

The masterplans are long-term projects which will guide future regeneration in Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby over the next 10-15 years.

Each masterplan will create an individual vision for the town and its residents on how to best transform what the town centres already offer.

Councillor Asjad Mahmood, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “Colne, Barnoldswick and Earby have not had masterplans before, so this is a fantastic opportunity to create ambitious visions for their future, which we hope will boost new investment and development in the towns.

“They will focus on employment opportunities, retail, leisure, housing, healthcare and community facilities; as well as address climate change and protecting the natural environment.

“Input from residents and businesses means we can shape the towns the way they want us to - and we look forward to hearing their views.”

Phillip Spurr, Director of Place for Pendle Borough Council, added: “Understanding local people’s priorities is hugely important to us, so please tell us what you think a masterplan for your town should include.”
