A consultation is being held for people to express their views on a potential new skate park for Colne.

We want your feedback

It is being held at Pendle Leisure Centre, Crown Way, Colne, on Thursday, 22 February, 6pm – 8pm.

This is an initial meeting with specialist consultants that are working with Pendle Borough Council to design a potential new concrete skate park on a piece of land behind Pendle Leisure Centre.

The aim is to look at various options and design elements that local users would like to see.

People of any age that are interested in helping to develop the project are invited along to the consultation – but places must be booked!

Councillor Asjad Mahmood, Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “This will be another great asset for the borough.

“It will be yet another way for our younger residents to exercise and socialise and I think in consulting them, we can ensure we get the design right and it will be used to its full potential.”

Phil Riley, the Council’s Green Spaces Manager, added: “We have consultants to work with us, but we also want to hear from people that already use a skate park and have ideas on what we need, to have a say and express their views on the proposed design options.”

Pendle Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Housing, Health & Wellbeing, Councillor Mohammad Ammer, added: “This will be another option for our younger residents to get out in the fresh air and exercise!”

Pendle Borough Council’s Portfolio Holder for Leisure Services, Councillor Mohammad Hanif, added: “This will be a great addition to the leisure facilities and services we already provide, especially for our younger members of the community.”

To make sure there is enough space to accommodate everyone, places must be booked. You can book via email at parks@pendle.gov.uk or by calling 01282 661587.
