CCTV

CCTV is there to help reduce crime, and create a safer environment in the areas where the cameras are situated.

In Pendle, it is the responsibility of the individual Town Council for each area: Nelson, Brierfield, Earby, Barnoldswick and Colne.

Incidents in Nelson, Brierfield, Earby and Barnoldswick

Nelson, Brierfield, Earby and Barnoldswick Town Councils are part of a wider East Lancashire Partnership. Images from the cameras are transmitted to a shared recording hub hosted by Blackburn with Darwen Council. Images are recorded and kept on the system for 28 days.

Any requests for a search for CCTV footage should be made within 28 days of the incident.

Please give as much information about the incident as possible, including the date, time and location. Try to be as accurate as possible about the location and time, as this is what will determine if a search is possible. Although the system sometimes captures Road Traffic incidents it is not specifically designed for that purpose.

Once submitted, operatives in Blackburn will search the camera recordings and let you know if anything has been captured. They will only release recorded footage to the Police, your solicitor or insurance company if they have requested it.

Incidents in Colne

Cameras in Colne Town Centre are owned and run by Colne Town Council.
