Freedom of Information Act 2000

This Act provides public access to information held by public authorities. It does this in two ways:

  • public authorities are obliged to publish certain information about their activities; and
  • members of the public are entitled to request information from public authorities

Open Data

Open Data is about being transparent, sharing our information with the wider community, and giving them the opportunity to use that data to build useful applications. The data must be in open and machine readable formats that are easy to reuse.
