Volunteering in our green spaces
Parks friends groups
Seven of our parks in Pendle have Friends groups. Friends groups are volunteers who dedicate some of their time and energy into caring for and improving their local park.
The Friends Groups meet on a regular basis. Often our staff, councillors and the Police also come along to the meetings. Anyone with an interest in the parks is welcome to join a Friends of the Parks group and give as much or as little time as they wish. If you're interested, email us on parks@pendle.gov.uk
Friends Groups:
- Friends of Ball Grove Park, Trawden
- Friends of Barrowford Park
- Friends of Brierfield Parks
- Friends of Marsden Park, Nelson
- Valley Gardens Working Group, Barnoldswick
- Friends of Victoria Park, Nelson
- Friends of Walverden Park, Nelson
We offer support, advice and guidance and to help stage small events and activities in the parks.
If you want to set up a new Friends Group for a park that doesn't have one, email us at parks@pendle.gov.uk
We need all kinds of people with different skills to become Friends of Parks. So whether you're a horticulture expert, you have organisational skills, you've a head for figures or you just like being active in the fresh air, we would love to hear from you.
