Community Engagement
A Borough That Listens and Connects
At Pendle Borough Council, we believe great communities are built on trust, transparency, and shared goals. That’s why engaging with residents, community groups, and local organisations is at the heart of everything we do.
Community engagement supports us with the delivery of the Council Plan 2025–2028, including:
- Delivering high-quality services
- Building connected, proud communities
- Improving health and wellbeing for all
What Is Community Engagement?
Community engagement is about building meaningful two-way conversations. It means involving you—our residents, businesses, and local partners—so that together we can improve services, shape local plans, and strengthen Pendle’s identity as a borough where everyone feels they belong.
We engage with:
- Communities of place – people connected by a shared neighbourhood
- Communities of identity – people who share similar life experiences or characteristics
- Communities of interest – people with shared goals, hobbies, or challenges
We know from listening to our residents that people want to feel better informed and more involved in decisions that affect their lives. Our Community Engagement Strategy View the full Community Engagement Strategy sets out how we will do just that.
