Community Engagement
We aim to engage with our community as part of everything we do, both as the Council, and in our work with partners. It helps us to deliver our Strategic Plan:
- quality services
- health and wellbeing
- community safety
However, we also recognise that when we have asked our residents they tell us that they feel under informed about what we do and unaware of how they can influence decision making.
Community Engagement Framework
We have written a Community Engagement Framework. It supports the Council’s strategic vision.
The Framework sets out how we will engage with residents about:
- their quality of life and how it can be improved
- how they can contribute to improvements by being better informed
- our consultation opportunities
- how they can become involved locally, get involved in decision making and become empowered as a decision maker
