An open grassy area with lots of small waterways and scatterings of trees of all ages. A great place to walk and enjoy although paths are not very well established. Gib Hill has been targeted many times by developers but locals have campaigned to protect this 'green lung' between Nelson and Colne.
The nature reserve has a quiet aspect, most of the surrounding urban sprawl is hidden behind the treelines and there are fantastic views of the surrounding hills and Countryside.
