Pendle Coronavirus Support Hub - I need help with food shopping

If you have internet access, most supermarkets now offer on-line delivery and a click and collect service.  Register with your supermarket to access on-line shopping.

If you are Extremely Clinically Vulnerable and have successfully registered by 31 March 2021 with the National Shielding Service System (NSSS) for priority supermarket delivery, you can retain priority delivery until 21 June 2021. You cannot register for supermarket delivery with the NSSS after 31 March.

These priority delivery slots are part of a national programme and the council has no control over these.

If you have not received a letter but consider yourself vulnerable and struggling to get an on-line delivery slot, contact the Hub on 01282  661743 to request a referral to the DEFRA Vulnerable Persons for Priority Food Deliveries scheme (Tesco and Iceland supermarkets only)

If you do not have internet access, some supermarkets now offer a phone delivery service:

• Morrisons - Signpost to Doorstep Delivery Service – Telephone - 0345 611 6111

• Sainsbury's - for customers who are vulnerable and registered with Sainsbury’s via the Shielding Service: Tel 0800 917 8557.

You can also ask your local, independent food shops if they offer a delivery service. If you are self-isolating, you could always ask a neighbour, family or friend to shop for you.

If you are unable to access either on-line of phone delivery service as you only have cash and do not have a support network, contact Burnley, Pendle, Rossendale CVS for food shopping support on 01282 433740
