Making a planning application

Apply for planning permission

Ways to apply

The Planning Portal

The Planning Portal is an online way to apply for planning permission. Registration is easy and you can complete your application form, buy site location plans, upload supporting documents and pay fees online.

The benefits of applying online include:

  • You can work on your application in draft before submission
  • Immediate delivery and acknowledgement
  • Savings on postage and printing costs
  • Online record of your completed applications
  • Once submitted your application goes straight into our system, so there is no manual processing

If you choose to apply using the Planning Portal, you must pay all the application fees to them, using their payments system. If you don't, your application will not be sent to us.

Please note there is a service charge for using the Planning Portal. This fee goes directly to the Planning Portal and is not collected by Pendle Borough Council. If you do not want to use the Planning Portal to submit your application, you can download planning application forms from the Planning portal and send to planning@pendle.gov.uk
