Enforcing against littering and dog fouling
A team of enforcement officers work on our behalf to tackle littering and dog fouling.
District Enforcement Ltd are handing out fixed penalty notices to people who litter or who don't pick up after their dogs.
How much are the fines?
- For littering (including throwing litter from a car) the fine is £150
- For dog fouling the fine is £100
All fixed penalty notices have to be paid within 14 days.
If you get a fixed penalty notice for littering and you pay within 10 days, you only have to pay £80.
If you don't pay, you might have to go to court. The biggest fine that the court can give is £2,500.
