We’re investing in better cycling routes across Pendle.
Pendle Water Bridleway
Completed in 2023 with ESIF funding, this new circular route runs along both sides of the River Pendle Water from Victoria Park in Nelson. Mostly traffic-free, with an optional on-road loop via Nelson Interchange. ***(link to maps?)***
Regeneration projects – new pump track at Marsden Park, training area at Victoria Park.
Accessible Nelson scheme – linking Nelson College, the canal, and town centre.
LCWIPs priority routes – safer connections in Nelson and beyond.
Future plans – from railbed cycle routes to town masterplans, cycling is at the heart of our vision.
