Disruptions to bin collections because of the weather

Week commencing 5th January 2026

Please continue to bear with us this week as we battle with icy weather conditions to carry out our bin collections.

Our teams are working in some extremely hard conditions and working extra hours to try and catch up.

Today, three additional teams have been pulled together to help with the backlog.

One team will return to Nelson, one team will return to Barnoldswick and Earby and a third team will return to Colne.

Weather and road conditions permitting, the teams will hopefully complete the areas they had not been able to reach earlier this week and then they will move on to reported missed collections. 

If your bin has not been emptied when scheduled, please leave it out and crews will return as soon as weather conditions allow.

Please remember to leave clear access for our vehicles on street corners and back streets.
