Community Safety Partnership

We deliver actions on a range of local issues. We also work with the Pennine Lancashire Community Safety Steering Group, which looks at ways to reduce crime across East Lancashire.

The responsible authorities are:

  • Lancashire Constabulary
  • Lancashire County Council
  • Lancashire Fire and Rescue Service
  • National Probation Service
  • Health Services
  • Pendle Borough Council

We work together to manage, prevent and reduce crime and antisocial behaviour in Pendle. Our aim is to make Pendle a safer place to live and work. We do this by building community safety into the daily activities and policies of our partners.

We meet four times a year, to monitor the targets and specific actions in the Community Safety Strategy yearly action plans, and responde to emerging problems and crimes.

If you have any concerns regarding local crime issues, you can report these through your local police teams or your Area Committee, where community safety is always an item on the agenda.

Colne has a separate Community Safety Area Working Group which meets before every Colne and District Area Committee meeting.

Community Safety Partnership Strategy 2022-25

The Pendle Community Safety Partnership has a duty to develop a three year strategy

The plans within our strategy and the strategic assessment are reviewed annually, to take account of any changes in patterns of crime, antisocial behaviour, community concerns and national priorities.
