Sign up for e-billing and you could win an iPad!

Published: Thursday, 1st December 2016

Did you know you can now access your council tax account online at a time and place which suits you?

The service, which encourages council tax payers to save time, do it online, is available on Pendle Council’s website – www.pendle.gov.uk/doitonline

It’s a quicker and easier way to keep us up-to-date with any changes in your circumstances, set up to pay your council tax by Direct Debit, sign up for e-billing, check how much you owe and make payments.

And if you sign up to receive your council tax bill by e-mail rather than through the post, you’ll be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad Air2 donated by Liberata!

Councillor Mohammed Iqbal, Leader of Pendle Council, is championing the service. He said: “We’ve launched the prize draw to encourage more people to switch to e-billing.

“It will save paper so it’s better for the environment and the cost per transaction is less for the Council so it will help us to save money.”

Sign up by 28 February and you’ll be entered into the prize draw.

Don’t worry, if you already receive your bill this way, you’ll automatically be entered into the draw too.

But if you're jointly liable with another person for council tax, you need to ask them to register for e-billing too. Everyone named on the bill must give permission.

If you don’t we’ll need to continue to send a paper bill through the post and you won’t be entered into the draw.

Using Council Tax Online you can:

  • sign up for e-billing
  • check how much you owe
  • make payments
  • let us know if you’ve moved
  • apply for a single person discount
  • set up to pay by Direct Debit.

The service is free, fast, reliable and secure and means you no longer have to call or visit the Council.

The website includes lots of help and advice including frequently asked questions and specific guides to take people through the process.
