Pendle's Mayor donates to charities

Born and bred Pendle Mayor gives back.
The Mayor of Pendle, Councillor Yasser Iqbal, has donated all his Mayoral allowance for the year to his chosen charities - Pendleside Hospice, Curry on the Street, Rise Support and Hope for Mankind.
And the final cheque handover of £1,000 to the Nelson Community Masjid Foodbank took place at the Pride of Nelson awards on 16 March.
The Mayor, who was born and bred in Pendle, said:
“Being Pendle’s first citizen has filled me with pride and it has been good to give back to my community.
“Home is where the heart is, and my heart is very much in Pendle.
