Are you planning to celebrate the Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort?

The Coronation of The King and The Queen Consort is taking place on Saturday 6 May, with events running until Monday 8 May, which has been declared a bank holiday.
To mark the historic event, everyone is being encouraged to spend the Coronation Weekend with friends, families and their communities.
The Coronation is taking place at Westminster Abbey on Saturday 6 May and on Sunday 7 May it’s the Coronation Big Lunch and a concert which will be broadcast live on the BBC.
Councillor Mike Goulthorp, Deputy Leader of Pendle Borough Council, said: “During the Coronation Weekend in May, there will be plenty of opportunities to mark the Coronation of His Majesty King Charles III.
“This includes an extra bank holiday on Monday 8 May when everyone will be invited to take part in The Big Help Out to try volunteering and support their local area.”
If you’re planning an event, Pendle Borough Council has pulled together information on what you need to do.
Julie Mousdale, Technical Support and Events Coordination Officer for Pendle Borough Council, said:
“If you want to host small street parties and small events on private land, such as your garden, you don’t need approval from us unless a street closure is required.
“We need to receive applications for street closures as soon as possible but no later than Friday 21 April to give us time to consult the Police and Lancashire County Council.
“We are also asking that you consult with your neighbours as part of your planning.”
Requests to use Council land such as a park also need approval and an Events
Application Pack should be completed by Friday 7 April.
If at any event you want to sell alcohol or have any entertainment, such as live music or recorded music, a Temporary Events Notice will be needed.
It costs £21 to apply and the deadline to get them to the Council is Friday 21 April.
