Community, charity and business support organisations invited to become delivery partners in a £3.6million programme

Published: Tuesday, 31st May 2022

Organisations within Pendle are being invited to become delivery partners in Pendle’s £3.6 million Shared Prosperity Fund programme.

Community, charity and voluntary sector organisations, as well as those delivering in the business support sector, must act fast to send Pendle Borough Council an expression of interest by 17 June 2022.

Council Leader, Councillor Nadeem Ahmed, explained:

“The goal of the Prosperity Fund, which is part of the Government’s Levelling Up agenda, is to build pride in local areas, boost business and help increase life chances in communities.

“The funding for Pendle is for the next three years and we want to get proposals to help us shape our plan and potential areas of investment,” he said.

Projects must meet the requirements of the new programme and support the growth and prosperity of Pendle.

There are more details on the Council’s website, including links to supporting information, and details of how you can submit your proposal via: www.pendle.gov.uk/UKSPF

Organisations are being asked to make sure their expression of interest aligns with one or more of the three priorities of the UK Shared Prosperity Fund which are:

  • Community and Place

  • Supporting local business

  • People & Skills

Funding must be used for either provision that is in addition to what is already available, or to replace key spending that may not be available in future years.

Nadeem added:

“We are encouraging organisations with a track-record in their field to put in proposals to be a potential delivery partner.

“We think there will be a high level of interest so please check the criteria carefully,” he stated.

The Council’s task will be to consider all the proposals and identify those which best meet our local needs. Local Authorities must submit an investment plan for the fund to the Government by 1 August 2022.
