The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee is almost here!

The Queen's Platinum Jubilee

This year, Thursday 2 and Friday 3 June are bank holidays to celebrate Her Majesty The Queen’s Platinum Jubilee - the first time any British monarch has reached this historic milestone.

And if you’re planning to celebrate, Pendle Borough Council has pulled together information on what you need to do.

Philip Mousdale, Corporate Director, said: “If you want to host small street parties and small events on private land, such as your garden, you don’t need approval from us unless a street closure is required.

“We need to receive applications for street closures as soon as possible but no later than 5pm on Friday 20 May to give us time to consult the Police and Lancashire County Council.

“We are also asking that you consult with your neighbours as part of your planning.”

Requests to use Council land such as a park also need approval and an Events Application Pack should be completed by 5pm on Friday 6 May.

If at any event you want to sell alcohol or have any entertainment, such as live music or recorded music, a Temporary Events Notice will be needed.

It costs £21 to apply and the deadline to get them to the Council is 5pm on Tuesday 17th May.

Full details and guidance for anyone organising these events is available on Pendle Borough Council’s website at www.pendle.gov.uk/jubilee
