Anyone who would like to have their first or second dose or booster can pop down to the bus which will be on Morrisons car park between 10am and 4pm on Friday 1 and Saturday 2 April. 

And if you’re 75 and over you can get your spring booster. 

The spring booster is also available to residents in care homes for older people and those aged 12 and over with a weakened immune system. 

Sakthi Karunanithi, Lancashire County Council’s Director for Public Health, said: “We’re seeing an increase in the number of people with Covid-19. 

“Vaccinations are our best line of defence, so if you’re eligible and haven’t had your first or second jab or your booster, it’s not too late - come and get yours! 

“They reduce the risk of spreading the virus to others and mean you’re less likely to get seriously ill. 

“The spring booster for those 75 and over will help keep the most vulnerable people protected against severe illnesses as infections rise.” 

The vaccination bus is in Nelson for two days only and has limited supplies of the vaccine so you’re being urged to get there early!

Now that we’re learning to live with Covid-19 here are some measures to help protect yourself, your loved ones and the community. 

• Try to stay at home if you feel unwell 
• Take a test if you have had Covid-19 symptoms and avoid contact with others. If you test positive, stay at home 
• Meet outdoors where you can. If you meet indoors, let fresh air in to reduce the risk of spreading Covid-19 
• Wear a face covering in crowded and enclosed spaces 
• Wash your hands regularly for 20 seconds or more to limit the spread of Covid-19
