The age group that has recorded the most new cases continues to be 10 – 19 year olds with 49 cases. This is followed by 40 – 49 year olds with 30 cases, and the 30 – 39 age group with 26 cases.

The latest seven-day infection rate across Pendle now stands at 245.3, which is down on the 268.1 reported last week.

We're now encouraging all adults in Pendle to get their Covid-19 booster, because two doses does not give you enough protection against the Omicron variant.

People aged 18 or over can pre-book a booster dose appointment two months after their second vaccine dose. You can get your booster dose three months after your second vaccine dose.

Bookings can be made through the NHS website, or alternatively, Barkerhouse Pharmacy in Nelson are running a walk-in service for the booster as well as both doses of the vaccine.

This week, the Government have introduced several new measures to slow the spread of the Omicron variant, which will protect our NHS and keep communities safe.

Fully vaccinated contacts of someone with Covid-19 should take rapid lateral flow tests every day for seven days. If you test positive or develop symptoms, you need to self-isolate for 10 days.

Unvaccinated adults must continue to self-isolate for 10 days if they are a contact of a positive coronavirus case - whether Omicron or not.

You also now need to show your NHS COVID Pass at certain venues or have had a negative test result in the last 48 hours.
