Residents are being asked to look out for a form from Pendle Council asking whether your details on the electoral register are correct.

With elections taking place in May 2022, this is an important opportunity to make sure you can have your say on issues which matter to you.

Known as the annual canvass, this step ensures that Pendle Council can keep the electoral register up to date.

It also means it can identify any residents who are not registered to vote so that they don’t miss out on having their say on who represents them.

Philip Mousdale, Electoral Registration Officer for Pendle Council, said: “It’s so important that everyone looks out for the form which is being sent out to all homes across the borough.

“If you’ve moved recently it’s particularly important that you check whether you’re registered at your new home.

“Please respond by following the instructions we send with the form.”

Anyone who isn’t currently registered to vote won’t be included on any household forms.

The quickest and easiest way to register to vote is online – www.gov.uk/register-to-vote

For more information about the annual canvass or for help completing the form, contact our Elections team on (01282) 661201 or 661662, or email elections@pendle.gov.uk

The annual canvass is a statutory duty carried out by all councils across the country.
