A vaccination bus is coming to Nelson for two days on Friday and Saturday this week to give residents an opportunity to get their first dose.

The bus will be on:

  • Market Street outside Nelson Town Hall, BB9 7LG, on Friday 18 June
  • Stanley Street car park in Nelson (next to Salvation Army), BB9 7EL, on Saturday 19 June

Anyone aged 18 and over, who hasn’t yet had their first vaccination, can drop-in between 10am and 4pm for their first dose of the Pfizer vaccine.

Councillor Nadeem Ahmed, Leader of Pendle Council said: “More and more people are again testing positive for Covid-19 in Pendle.

“Last week there were 189 new cases and this week there are nearly 300 - with 291 people testing positive in Pendle.

“Covid cases have been increasing weekly for six weeks in a row and for the last two weeks the age group with most cases is 10 - 19 and 20-29 year olds.

“It’s vital that local people come and get vaccinated to protect themselves, their friends and families and keep Pendle safe.”

The vaccination bus is in Nelson for two days only and has limited supplies of the vaccine so people are being urged to get there early!

Councillor Ahmed added: “It’s so important that everyone does what they can to reduce the spread of the virus by getting tested, with or without symptoms, and getting vaccinated.

“It’s also as important as ever to remember to wash your hands, wear a face mask in enclosed spaces and keep two metres apart from people you don’t live with.”
