All-out Pendle Council elections, as well as Lancashire County Council and Police and Crime Commissioner elections, are taking place.

Polling stations will be safe places to vote and people voting in person are encouraged to keep themselves and others safe by:

• wearing a face covering
• bringing your own pen or pencil (they will be provided)
• cleaning your hands when entering and leaving the polling station
• keeping a safe distance.

Some polling stations have changed this year so voters are urged to check their poll card for where they should go to vote.

There has been a last minute change which means residents who were going to vote at Silverman Hall in Nelson, will now vote at the Contact Centre at Number One Market Street in Nelson.

Polling stations are open from 7am to 10pm.

Philip Mousdale, Returning Officer and Corporate Director for Pendle Council, said: “Please don’t come to the polling station if you have Covid-19 symptoms, or if you’ve been asked to self-isolate.

“Anyone who develops symptoms, or is asked to self-isolate shortly before polling day, has up to 5pm on polling day to apply for an emergency proxy vote.

“This allows you to nominate someone you trust to vote on your behalf.”

Voters who have opted to vote by post must return their postal ballot pack by 10pm. You can hand it in at your polling station if you don’t have time to return it by post.
