Now that the Government is no longer asking people to stay at home, Pendle Council is asking residents to keep doing their bit and remember to follow the new restrictions.

From Monday (29 March) the rule of six returned to public outdoor spaces, including private gardens.

This means you can gather with one other household (of any size) or up to six people from different households outdoors.

Outdoor sport and leisure facilities, such as golf courses and tennis courts, can now reopen and organised sport can restart for children and adults.

Dean Langton, Chief Executive of Pendle Council, said: “This move completes the first step of the Government’s roadmap to recovery.

“Although the stay at home message has been dropped, it’s important that we minimise the number of journeys we make as much as possible.

“If you can, please continue to work from home.”

Dean is urging residents to continue doing their bit for Pendle by remembering to:

  • wash your hands and use hand sanitiser
  • wear a face mask
  • make space.

He added: “Rates of Covid-19 are currently low in Pendle and we need to do what we can to keep them down.

“As restrictions ease it’s so important that we are vigilant and continue to take these steps to ensure we don’t spread the virus and delay the next stage of the roadmap to recovery.

“Get tested if you have any symptoms, or you think you have, and please self-isolate for 10 days if you test positive.”

The vaccination programme continues to roll out so if you’re invited, please protect yourself and others and get vaccinated.
