Coronavirus mobile testing in Pendle continues to 31 July

Coronavirus mobile testing units are in Pendle this week and testing will continue in Nelson and Barnoldswick up to and including Friday 31 July.
Councillor David Whipp, Deputy Leader of Pendle Council said:
“We can all do it for Pendle by helping to reduce the spread.
“Free tests are being carried out at a mobile testing unit in Barnoldswick at the Rainhall Road car park until Friday 31 July,” he stated.

Or people can book a test by calling the COVID hotline on 119.
Tests are being carried out from 10.30am – 3.30pm and people who’ve got a test booked can come by car or on foot.
And the mobile testing unit at the former fairground site on Carr Road, on the border of Nelson and Barrowford, will continue to be open daily from 10.30am – 3.30pm until Friday 31 July.
People need to book a test rather than just turn up.

They can also be booked on the morning for a test on the same day via the Government’s webpage.
Anyone with symptoms must self-isolate for 7 days from the point their symptoms started.
“If you live with someone with symptoms, you must self-isolate for 14 days from the day their symptoms started, as it can take 14 days for symptoms to appear,” explained Councillor Iqbal, Leader of Pendle Council.
"And if you have symptoms, it's very important to stay at home, get yourself tested and follow the advice from the NHS Test and Trace service,” he said.
“We must all play a part by following the safety advice for Pendle to help us reduce the spread. “
This includes wearing face coverings in enclosed public spaces from now, including shops and supermarkets. More details on the rules people must follow are on Pendle Council’s website: www.pendle.gov.uk/coronavirus

Dr Sakthi Karunanithi, director of public health for Lancashire, said:
"It’s really important to stay alert to the risks. We should all do what we can to limit the spread of infection.
