Pendle’s tourism businesses - good to go!

“A growing number of Pendle’s tourism businesses including places to stay and visitor attractions are now open,” announced Councillor Mohammed Iqbal, Leader of Pendle Council.
“This follows the lifting of Government restrictions for this sector on 4th July.
“And it’s good news that more are gearing up to open their doors from August,” he said.
Mike Williams, Tourism and Events Officer for Pendle Council said:
“We’re urging businesses to sign up to the UK’s We’re Good to Go campaign and most of the ones we’ve talked to are joining the scheme.
“The scheme encourages tourism businesses to follow the Government’s COVID-19 re-opening checklist,” he explained.
“When they have also completed their COVID-19 Risk Assessment, businesses can display a certificate and Good to Go mark to show that they are safe and can encourage visitors to return.
“It’s another way to get the message out that Pendle is open for business again!” He said.
Businesses can find out the requirements and sign up to the scheme via www.goodtogo.visitbritain.com
And visitors can check which attractions and places to stay are now signed up as safely open via Pendle Council’s tourism website www.visitpendle.com and by clicking on the Good to Go banner.
Places in Pendle which have already signed up include:
The Fence Gate Lodge at Fence
Lower Greenhill Camping & Caravan site, Salterforth
The Youth Hostel, Earby, open exclusively for the use of 1-2 households at £120 per night
Rye Flatt B & B in Laneshawbridge
Redcurrant Glass workshops at Fired Up North, Lomeshaye Business Village
The Cabin, Barley.
Mike added: “Businesses have been making a huge effort to re-open and we want their efforts to be rewarded.
“People wanting to re-unite with friends and family can find them a safe place to stay nearby and enjoy trips out with them including a return to local pubs and restaurants,” he added.
Other visitor businesses getting ready to re-open soon include Stablecross B&B in Colne which re-opens on 23rd July.
And Pendle Heritage Centre, Barrowford and Coldwell Activity Centre above Colne hope to re-open from 1st August.
