Now’s the time to request postal and proxy votes

Published: Wednesday, 20th November 2019

You can still vote in the General Election on Thursday 12 December even if you can’t make it to a polling station on election day.

If you’re unable to vote in person, now’s the time to request your postal or proxy vote.

Having a postal vote, or sending someone else to the polling station as a proxy to vote on your behalf, means you can still have your say in elections.

Philip Mousdale, Pendle Council’s Returning Officer, said: “If you’d like to vote by post or by proxy this year and you haven’t already set this up, you’ll need to complete an application form.

“The deadline to submit your postal vote application is 5pm on Tuesday 26 November and 5pm on Wednesday 4 December to submit your proxy vote application.”

Application forms to appoint a proxy or to request a postal vote are available to download from Pendle Council’s website -www.pendle.gov.uk/absentvoters

Forms can also be requested from our Elections Office at Nelson Town Hall - call (01282) 661662 or email elections@pendle.gov.uk.
