Let's talk

Pendle Council's new leader is taking himself on the road every month so that he can discuss local issues with the community.

And the first roadshow which is taking place on Tuesday 25 June will see Councillor Mohamed Iqbal at Asda in Colne from 1.30pm – 2.30pm.

He’ll be joined by Dean Langton, Chief Executive, and a local councillor.

Councillor Iqbal, said: “It’s a real privilege to lead our borough which is full of amazing communities and businesses.

“People tell me that they want to know more about what the Council is doing to tackle local issues. My response is Let’s Talk!

“We want you to be confident that we’re working hard on your behalf every day as we continue to make Pendle a great place to live, work and study in.”

Councillor Iqbal will be bringing senior staff from the Council along to each roadshow so that you can also ask them about how we’re tackling those issues which affect you.

He added: “Come along and find out what our key plans are, what decisions we’re making and how we’re balancing the books in challenging times whilst protecting frontline services.

“We know there’ll be some hot topics from littering, dog fouling and how we’re tackling recycling.

“Whatever the issue or question – come and join us on Tuesday 25th June and Let’s Talk.”

The roadshows will take place at different times, days and venues to make sure that anyone who wants to meet with the Council Leader can do so over the coming months.

No appointments are necessary. People can have a chat on a first come first served basis.
