Looking for a new job, career change or volunteering opportunities?

Published: Monday, 1st October 2018

Pendle Prospects – billed as more than just a jobs fair – is coming to Nelson on Friday (5 October).

Anyone looking for a job, career change or volunteering opportunities is urged to come along and meet with high profile Pendle employers as well as support organisations such as local colleges.

All businesses which are attending have a range of vacancies and if it’s not a new job or career you’re after there will be lots of opportunities to volunteer.

Businesses include Unique Clean, Pendle Leisure Trust, Boundary Mill, Wellocks, Booths, CRG Home Care and Asda.

And support organisations joining us on the day include Burnley College, Lancashire Adult Learning and Minds Matter.

Councillor Paul White, Leader of Pendle Council, said: “We’ve teamed up with Jobcentre Plus to bring key people together under one roof.

“This is the perfect place to start if you want to discover what we have to offer in Pendle.

“Many people don’t realise the wealth of opportunities that are right here on our doorstep.

“And attending a jobs fair like this is a great way to boost your chances of finding the right job for you.”

Jason Potts who works for Jobcentre Plus' Employer Relationship Team, said: “By working in partnership we can make a real difference to people’s lives.

“This is a great opportunity to come and meet with businesses face to face to find out what roles are available and the skills needed to do those roles.

“And if you’re thinking of volunteering then you’ll be able to speak to a number of organisations which would love to take you up on that!

“Thanks to all of the businesses and organisations which are coming down and supporting the event.”

Pendle Prospects is on Friday (5 October) at the ACE Centre, Cross Street, Nelson. Drop in any time between 10am – 1pm.
