Number One Market Street now has Wi-Fi which means staff can show you how to access Pendle Council’s online services on your smartphone or tablet.

Between 10am and 11am, Monday to Friday, customer services staff will be available to help so that you can do it at a time and place which suits you in future.

Many of the Council’s services are online and can be accessed via www.pendle.gov.uk/doitonline

You can do things like:

  • manage your council tax account
  • apply for housing benefit or council tax support
  • upload evidence to support a claim
  • comment on planning applications
  • check your next bin collection and report missed collections
  • book a pest control service or bulky waste collection
  • report anti-social behaviour.

Councillor Paul White, Leader of Pendle Council, said: “We’re making it easier for you to access our services at a time and place which suits you.

“Our online services are available 24/7 which means you can request a service or apply for housing benefit or council tax support from the comfort of your own home.

“And now we’ve got WiFi at Number One Market Street, you can pop in and access our services on your smartphones or tablets.

“If you need help we can show you how to use our online services on your own devices between 10am and 11am during the week.

“For anyone who doesn’t have a smartphone or tablet you can continue to come into Number One Market Street and use our PCs.

“Alternatively there is help available at the libraries in Barnoldswick, Nelson and Colne.”
