Chance to win a professional garden tidy-up!

Published: Thursday, 6th July 2017

Gardeners who subscribe to Pendle Council’s garden waste scheme have a chance of winning a two-hour professional garden tidy-up.

Councillor David Clegg who leads the Council’s Environmental Services said: “Our team of gardeners are now offering their services to help local people spruce up their gardens.

“Pendle Council’s gardeners are experts in tree maintenance, turfing, grass cutting, hedge trimming and keeping shrub and flower borders looking beautiful.

“We thought it would be a nice idea to offer a two-hour professional tidy-up to two lucky winners who’ve signed up to our garden waste collection rounds.”

Carole Taylor, the Council’s Waste and Recycling Co-ordinator added: “We have a passion for gardening and recycling in Pendle, with thousands of gardeners on our garden waste collection rounds.

“It’s not too late to sign up to our popular service, which costs around 60p a week or 30p if you share a bin.

“The chance to win two hours of gardening by our fully qualified and insured staff is an extra incentive.”

Two winners will be picked at random from the households subscribed to the scheme by 31st July 2017.

People can renew or sign up online on www.pendle.gov.uk/gardenwaste by quoting the garden waste reference number in their reminder letter or by putting in their address to find it.

And those who’d like to see if they can join the scheme can fill in an online form to find out if the Council can add their address to their garden waste rounds.

Subscribers can also pay using Pendle Council’s automated telephone payment system by calling 01282 661743 and pressing 1 to pay, using a credit or debit card.

Keith Higson, who’s in charge of Pendle’s park gardeners, said:  “Anyone who’d like to find out about Pendle Council’s gardening service can ask us for a free quotation without obligation.”

“Simply visit our website www.pendle.gov.uk/gardening or give us a ring on 01282 661600.

“We can carry out small and large gardening jobs including services for businesses and organisations too.”
