Raising the Armed Forces flag in Pendle

The Armed Forces Day flag flying on Nelson Town Hall.

The Armed Forces flag is flying on Nelson Town Hall for Armed Forces Day on Saturday 24 June.

Pendle’s Mayor Councillor David Whalley said:

“The flag shows our support for the men and women in our Armed Forces community, from serving troops and their families to veterans and young cadets.”

A flag raising ceremony took place on Monday 19 June. 

Lt Col. John Downham MBE, Deputy Lieutenant for Lancashire, conducted the official handover of the Armed Forces Day Flag to Pendle’s Mayor.
