Be ready to use your vote

Published: Monday, 24th April 2017

Pendle Council is encouraging residents to use their votes in next week’s elections.

On Thursday 4 May there will be elections to Lancashire County Council.

No Borough Council elections are taking place this year.

Gillian Turpin, Pendle Council’s Elections Manager, said: “It’s so important that everyone who is registered to vote uses that vote on Election Day, Thursday 4 May.

“This is your chance to have a say on the councillors who represent you on a whole range of issues affecting your everyday life.”

Polling stations will be open on Thursday 4 May between 7am and 10pm.

To find out who is standing for election in your part of Pendle and to find your polling station, go to www.pendle.gov.uk/elections

There’s also a step by step guide of what to do if you’re a first time voter, or haven’t voted in a while and need a bit of a reminder.

Gillian added: “Our polling station staff will also be happy to explain things to you on election day.

“But please remember to go to the polling station printed on the poll card that was delivered to your home – you can’t choose where to go to cast your vote.”

The count will take place on Friday 5th May. Results will be posted that day.
