Pendle Council reveals its iPad winner

A Colne couple have won an iPad simply by signing up to receive their council tax bill by e-mail rather than through the post.

Shirley and John Naylor who run Colne MOT Centre switched to e-billing in February and were entered into Pendle Council’s prize draw to win a 32GB iPad Air.

E-billing means that bills are no longer sent through the post but are e-mailed to customers with a unique code called an online key.

Using the key customers can quickly and securely access their council tax bill.

Philip Mousdale, Corporate Director, said: “Thank you to everyone who signed up for e-billing.

“We’re delighted that hundreds of residents made the switch but we’d like even more to request this new service.

“It’s more convenient for customers because it means you can access your council tax information at a time and place which suits you.

“And you’re helping us to save the environment because we’re using less paper.

“Congratulations to Shirley and John!”

Shirley said: “I’m so pleased to have won the iPad. It couldn’t have been easier to sign up for e-billing.

“I prefer to do things online and find the Council’s website really useful - it’s easy to find the information you want.”

Residents who’ve signed up to e-billing no longer have to file their council tax bill because it’s stored securely online and can be accessed at any time.

You can sign up for e-billing on Pendle Council’s website – www.pendle.gov.uk/doitonline
