Pendle residents are encouraged to save time, do it online
Published: Friday, 6th May 2016
Pendle Council has launched a new service which means residents can access their council tax account online.
The service, which encourages council tax payers to save time, do it online, is now available on the Council’s website – www.pendle.gov.uk/counciltaxonline
Latest council tax bills have a unique code called an online key which can be found at the top right hand corner of each bill.
It’s this code which gives residents access to their online council tax account.
Using the online service residents can:
• set up to pay by Direct Debit.
The new service is free, fast, reliable and secure and means they no longer have to call or visit the Council.
Councillor Mohammed Iqbal is championing the new service.
“A fantastic number of residents registered their interest with us so that we could let them know as soon as the service became available.
“Feedback shows that they’ve found it simple to use and we hope that everyone who can access our website will manage their council tax account this way.”
Councillor Iqbal stressed: “If you register for e-billing and you are jointly liable with another person for council tax, you need to ask the other person to register for e-billing too.
“If you don’t both register for e-billing, we’ll need to continue to send a paper bill through the post.”
