You can now apply for benefits on our website which means you’ll get your money in your pocket faster!

By using www.pendle.gov.uk/benefitsonline you can:

  • apply for Housing Benefit or Council Tax Support
  • submit evidence online
  • tell us of a change in your circumstances.

Councillor Mohammed Iqbal, Leader of Pendle Council and digital champion, said: “We’re really excited about this new online service.

“It’s very easy to use and means you can make a claim at a time and place which suits you.

“More importantly, online benefit applications can be dealt with much quicker.

“There’ll be no more delays because of things being sent through the post and you can avoid lengthy telephone calls or visits to Council offices.”

Benefits Online is secure, fast and free and is the quickest way to manage your benefits or make new claims.

You can tell us of a change in your circumstances as soon as you know.

Councillor Iqbal added: “For the first time you'll be able to upload evidence such as wage slips, savings, proof of rent and tenancy agreements.

“These can either be photographs of documents or electronic copies.

“I can’t stress enough that Benefits Online is a fantastic addition to our online services and will make a real difference to our customers.”

Council Tax Online www.pendle.gov.uk/counciltaxonline  was launched in May last year.

Using the online code on your latest bill you can:

  • switch to e-billing
  • set up to pay council tax by Direct Debit
  • make payments
  • let us know if you’ve moved
  • apply for a single person discount.

Pendle Council is encouraging residents to switch to e-billing, which means that council tax bills are sent by email rather than through the post.

It's better for the environment and saves money.

Anyone who switches to e-billing before 28 February will be entered into a prize draw to win an iPad Air – www.pendle.gov.uk/doitonline
